Dear Senior Class of 2025, 

As you prepare to take your final steps at Buchanan High School, I invite you to take one more step that’s not just about leaving—but about leading.

I would like to start a new tradition called The Pride Pass. Where you as seniors can symbolically pass on school pride to our kindergarten Little Bucks!  

We are purchasing pennants that you can sign and following a short singing program by our kindergarten class, we would like to start this new tradition where you pass off the pennants to the kindergartners signifying the end of your journey and the beginning of theirs.  

This event will happen at Memorial Field on May 20th at 7:00 pm.  You may gather in the bleachers during the kindergartner's short singing program. Then you will be called to the field with each class of students gathering at opposite ends of the football field. There will be a short speech made and then both classes will walk and meet at the 50 yard line to exchange the pennants as the school fight song plays. We will get a whole group picture from the press box.  This entire program should not last longer than 30 minutes and you should be done by 7:30 if not a little earlier.   

Since we are passing the pride, please wear a shirt, sweatshirt, jersey that signifies BHS (sports, Herd, etc).  

We would love for as many of you as possible to attend and begin this new tradition and legacy for our Little Bucks!  

I am so proud of all that you have accomplished as you leave your mark on Buchanan Schools and wishing you all the best as you continue your journey to leave your mark on the world! 

Your attendance and support of our Little Bucks would mean the world to them!!

Thursday, April 24th!  Your Senior Officers planned a fun-filled DayTrip for your class.  

The cost will be $125.  Bring extra money for snacks & souvenirs.  To reserve your spot a $25 deposit is due by November 25th.  The entire trip needs to be paid for by the end of January.

The cost of the trip includes....Charter bus transportation, Lincoln Park Zoo, Urban Air (includes pizza and water), stops at Millennium Park and Planetarium for photo opps, and Top Golf (includes sandwich, chips, cookie, and a drink).

Senior Year is Here.  Make it yours!  Don’t forget your senior group order deadline is September 30th.   It’s important to order by September 30th to lock in your order at the best possible price and to receive your senior gear at the upcoming Senior Celebration scheduled for October 14th during lunch.

My name is Ms. Lietz & I am your new College Adviser for the 2024-25 school year. I'm here to help students navigate all different types of college pathways (4-year programs, 2-year programs, trades, apprenticeships, etc.). Have you heard?  Your last day is wither May 14th or 15th...depending on the Regional Track Meet.  During your last day, you will watch the Senior Video, will have brunch, will receive your caps and gowns, will have a required graduation practice, will visit and parade through the other schools in the district, and will have lunch provided by the guidance department.  What a great last day!
